The article is about distribution of ones self. It starts of by explaining how the human identity has three stages. Those stages are Pre-Modern, Modern and Post-Modern stage. It then goes into detail of the functions of each stage. The fourth stage was only created in the late 20th century due to the growth of technology through time. These stages can be affected by the experience and development that everyone goes through differently.
When I had to complete the identity map I thought it was interesting to see everything mapped out. I saw how often it appears that I am on social media. Verse how often I use blogger, which I only use for school purposes. Psychotherapy was used in this research for distributed self. It explained that they are able to enter ones mind and reveal their history such as discovering a fossil.
On February 9, 2015 Boston announced that the next Immersive Education of 2015 will take place in Paris, France. In this years summit it will include six different technologies such as Virtual reality, Holograms, Robotics, 3D Printing, Neurogames, and Cybernetics. Within those six technologies there are different companies that are currently working with some of those technologies. Companies such as Microsoft, Google, Apple Watch etc. There will be an announcement in March in regards to the date and venue of the summit. Robots are made to accomplish a job that is made by their owner. Some robots are made to work alone with out someone telling it what to do. Not all robots can do tasks by themselves they would need the assistance or the command of a person. Robotics is the study of robots.
NASA uses robotic arms to move some space craft. Robotics are also used on airplanes so that the plane can pilot itself without another person having to so it physically. Robotics are mostly used to do things that humans can not. It is easier to send a robot into Mars and have it see how the planet is rather then sending humans and risking their lives.
I robot was a movie all about robots. The main focus in the movie was to show how useful and safer life can be with those robots. I use this video as an example so that it can give a sense of how some robotics work in the real world. Currently nothing like i robot has been created to help people in their everyday lives but it is used more with larger companies to make the hard work easier.
This is an image of one of the robotic arms that NASA uses to send out to space or different planets. Robotics are not just objects that move large objects or with airplanes. Robotics can also relate to some of the current toys that kids regularly play with. Whether it be a toy that uses voice command or a toy that is remote controlled. it can go in the category of robotic.
Robots were introduced by the U.S. in 1960. Since there was an advancement in technology through the years robotics have been advanced from manufactures to working with health care. At a dental office a robotic arm is used to help with the process of cleaning teeth, sanding down teeth, etc. Back then when manufactures were able to see how quick robots were able to do the work that a human does many robotic arms started being used in companies. At that time there was a large increase in unemployment.
It was cheaper for the company to invest in a robotic arm that would be able to work all night. Rather then to pay over time to those that work all night and would not even produce the same amount as the robotic arm could. Robotics is most commonly know for the benefits of making time move faster and produce more products. More information about robotics will be held at the IMMERSION 2015 summit.

In 1984 Charles Hull had invented Sterolithography. This technique is very similar to the work done with 3D printing. 3D printing is made of very thin layers of the object being printed. Laser sintering, fused deposition modeling, and Sterolithography are three different methods of ways used for 3D printing.
Selective laser sintering scans the object that will be created. It then uses ceramic, plastic or metal to create the image using the 3D printing. Sterolithography uses a liquid to create its object; it follows a certain pattern that the liquid will then also follow to create the object, Fused deposition used a metal wire or a plastic filament that will then unwind passing through a heated nozzle. The nozzle can move through any direction while creating its 3D object.
In this video it shows how 3D printing works and also the products that it can produce. The image would be created through a computer just as regular printing is produced. 3D printing would be very convenient when it comes to creating toys in my own personal opinion. I also think that this product can benefit others in different and convenient ways.
3D printing does not limit itself to only high end companies. People at home also have a chance to purchase on and create their own 3D objects. A RepRap is a personal 3D printer that can be purchased for a thousand dollars. The RepRap comes in a kit and can be put together to make the 3D printing.
This image shows the steps in which the 3D printing works. It is very interesting to see how the process of 3D printing. In a way a person can look at this printer similar to regular printing. With 3D printing it is easier for people to produce there own products.
The future can benefit a lot from this technology. It can inspire many to be creative and produce more objects in hopes to benefit the future. This technology is known but it is not commonly know as a technology that is regularly used now. More information on this product will be held at the summit this year in Paris.

Holograms are photographic techniques that use laser beams to give the look or a three dimensional figure. Holograms are used in movies and also on drivers licenses or ID cards. That type of Hologram is called the Rainbow hologram and is used for security purposed only. Holograms date back to 1947, it came from a Greek word. Holos meaning whole and gramma meaning message.
Iron man is a well know movie that actually consists of a lot of holograms through out the whole movie. In this image he is working on the Iron suit with out physically having to work on the suit. He is using its virtual version. Star Wars is also another well known movie that also uses holograms through out the film.
In this video it shows a hologram of Michael Jackson. This hologram pin points every movements and facial expression that Michael is known for. It looks very real but if you look closely you are able to see the digital lighting being used that is making Michael who he is. The hologram of Michael also doesn't just stay in one place it is able to move and dance as if it were really him on stage.
The image above gives a basic set up to how holograms work. As mentioned before the basis is the laser and an object is needed to then reflect through the mirrors and appear as a hologram. When holograms were first starting it was inspired when improving the resolution of a microscope. But because technology back in 1947 was not as great as it is now scientist Dennis Gabor was not able to further with this creation.
A hologram of Tupac was also created for a performance. There were many talks about this performance and how live like it was to see him on stage "performing". Even though it may be hard to tell where the laser beams are I can tell where the lighting is to make this holograms seem real. I find it amazing how movement and voice can be incorporated into this hologram.
This can also be seen and also have more information at the IMMERSION 2015 summit. In all holograms are used to make objects or images come to life. It is a great technology and can be used in different ways as i have presented them. I am interested to see how much farther holograms will be used in today's world.

Virtual Reality is computer generated by a person to make objects seem as if it were real. Many use helmets, gloves that are sensored, and most of the time glasses. Many can relate to this if a person has gone to see a 3D movie. It appears as though it is right in front of your face when in reality the screen remains the same.
Virtual reality first started in the 1950's. Since then it has progressed in many ways. It is now used in video games, arcades, and very large amusement parks such as Universal studios or even Disney theme parks. Immersive Education uses Virtual Reality for classes and presentations. In this years IMMERSION 2015 you can find more information on Virtual Reality and how they are able to incorporate it to teach students their material for class.
Play Station four is trying to make their players really feel as though they are actually playing the game. They have created these glasses that fully cover your eyes and your able to hear everything that is going on in the game. At the same time the player is still in full control of the remote. In this video you will be able to see how virtual reality can appear to actually seem as reality.
In this picture is a virtual class room used in Immersive education. Entering the virtual world is easy and can be done on any computer. Meshmoon is an example of a virtual world. In the this virtual world those that enter are able to chat with anyone in the world and also explore. Everyone receives an avatar and can customize their avatar to how they would like it.
Virtual reality became very important when government found it useful in war. When World War Two was going on they were able to use the techniques of virtual reality to fly their planes. They invested a lot of money into this technology and later realized it would be cheaper to just train pilots to fly the planes.
Virtual Reality has came a long the four decades since its been created, It benefits many in various ways. Sooner or later virtual reality will become more known and used as technology continues to advance. In this years summit there will be more information on Virtual Reality and how useful it can be.
