Virtual Reality is computer generated by a person to make objects seem as if it were real. Many use helmets, gloves that are sensored, and most of the time glasses. Many can relate to this if a person has gone to see a 3D movie. It appears as though it is right in front of your face when in reality the screen remains the same.

Virtual reality first started in the 1950's. Since then it has progressed in many ways. It is now used in video games, arcades, and very large amusement parks such as Universal studios or even Disney theme parks. Immersive Education uses Virtual Reality for classes and presentations. In this years IMMERSION 2015 you can find more information on Virtual Reality and how they are able to incorporate it to teach students their material for class.

Play Station four is trying to make their players really feel as though they are actually playing the game. They have created these glasses that fully cover your eyes and your able to hear everything that is going on in the game. At the same time the player is still in full control of the remote. In this picture is a virtual class room used in Immersive education. Entering the virtual world is easy and can be done on any computer. Meshmoon is an example of a virtual world. In the this virtual world those that enter are able to chat with anyone in the world and also explore. Everyone receives an avatar and can customize their avatar to how they would like it.

Virtual reality became very important when government found it useful in war. When World War Two was going on they were able to use the techniques of virtual reality to fly their planes. They invested a lot of money into this technology and later realized it would be cheaper to just train pilots to fly the planes.

Virtual Reality has came a long the four decades since its been created, It benefits many in various ways. Sooner or later virtual reality will become more known and used as technology continues to advance. In this years summit there will be more information on Virtual Reality and how useful it can be.
